When to buy your nursing bra?
Buying your nursing bra is an important step in the motherhood journey, and the right timing will influence your comfort and well-being as a new mom.
The time to buy your nursing bra should be guided by the evolution of your body and your needs at each stage of motherhood.
During your pregnancy (7th or 8th month)
You&Milk recommends waiting until your 7th or 8th month of pregnancy before acquiring your first nursing bra.
At this stage, your body has already undergone many changes, especially in the chest area, which becomes more sensitive and larger in preparation for breastfeeding.
Buying your bra at this time allows you to have a more precise idea of the final size of your chest. To help you, use a tailor's tape to measure your underbust and bust circumference, then refer to the size guide available on our online store. We advise you to choose one size above your measurements to anticipate the milk increase after delivery and before each feeding.
After your delivery
It is also possible to wait until the birth of your baby to buy your first nursing bra. A precaution that proves particularly useful during your first milk letdowns by helping you protect against leaks and avoid marks on your clothes.
However, You&Milk advises you to make this purchase a few weeks before childbirth. This way, you won’t be caught off guard after birth, a time when you will have other priorities than searching for the ideal nursing jumper.
During your breastfeeding period
Finally, it is not uncommon to have to buy new jumpers during your breastfeeding period. Reasons may vary: replacing a worn model, changes in your daily routine requiring more bras, or size adjustments due to variations in your breast size.

The nursing jumper:
Nursing jumpers are generally designed without underwires and are made from softer, stretchier fabrics. They offer a more relaxed shape, making them perfect for daily wear and nighttime, especially in the first weeks after childbirth when comfort is paramount.
Although comfortable, nursing jumpers provide more moderate support compared to nursing bras. They are perfect for small to medium breast sizes or for relaxing moments at home.

Nursing bra:
